Master Chen Huixian in Madison, May 6 – 8, 2011

Madison Chen Style Taijiquan welcomes Master Chen Hui Xian, the Phoenix of Chen Village, to Madison, Wisconsin for an unforgettable workshop in traditional Chen village Taijiquan training!

The Friday evening Silk Reeling class will cover the Chen family method of Silk Reeling. Silk Reeling exercises are the foundation of Chen Style Taijiquan promoting correct body alignment to maximize energy flow and is a great warm-up to any style of taiji practice.

The Saturday and Sunday classes will cover the entire Old Frame First Routine (Lao Jia Yi Lu). This form is thought of as the mother of the other styles of Taiji. Lao Jia Yi Lu is an excellent starting form, usually performed slowly by beginners and is designed to promote concentration, condition the body and acquaint students with a set of motion techniques for other styles of taiji or martial arts training.
